The Napoli striker is heavily linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of the next summer.
Football pundit Gary Lineker has suggested that Victor Osimhen should prioritize a move to Arsenal over Chelsea and Manchester United if the Nigerian striker decides to leave Napoli for the Premier League.
Speculation has been rife regarding Osimhen’s future, with Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, acknowledging that the 25-year-old forward is likely to depart the club at the end of the season, despite his contract running until 2026.
While reports indicate Chelsea as Osimhen’s preferred destination, Lineker believes Arsenal would be a more favourable choice for the prolific striker.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker said of Osimhen’s next move: “I think I’d look at it and I’d go, at the moment, Arsenal.”
He added: “Arsenal are probably a centre-forward away from winning things.
“Chelsea are a centre-forward away from becoming competitive again. Manchester United are a centre-forward away from improving, but they’ve still got a long way to go. If I were him, you want to go somewhere where you think you’re going to win things.”
Osimhen himself addressed the transfer rumours, acknowledging the allure of the Premier League but reaffirming his commitment to Napoli until the end of the season.
“The EPL is one of the biggest and best leagues in the world,” Osimhen stated, “but I’m with Napoli, signed a new contract, and enjoying my time there with the team.”
