There was a heated exchange after the final whistle of Sunday’s Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola refused to comment on the brawl that took place after the Premier League match against Arsenal.

The decisive moment came in the 86th minute. Gabriel Martinelli’s deflected shot off Nathan Ake secured a narrow 1-0 victory for Arsenal. Yet, the on-field action was not confined to the match itself. A post-game confrontation took place afterward, between Manchester City defender Kyle Walker and Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover.

Walker, visibly agitated, refused to shake hands with Jover. The situation escalated, drawing in Erling Haaland, who pulled Walker away from the confrontation. Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka also intervened to help defuse the escalating tension.

“I know what happened, but I don’t want to say anything. They [Arsenal] know it,” Guardiola said of the incident in a post-match press conference.

Jover worked alongside Mikel Arteta under Guardiola at City. He spent two years at the Etihad, before joining Arteta at Arsenal in 2021 following the latter’s appointment as the Arsenal head coach.
