The Spurs are in the market for a new striker after Kane’s exit.
Tottenham are reportedly eyeing a move for Gent striker Gift Orban after Harry Kane’s departure.
Kane’s lengthy transfer saga came to an end when he flew to Munich to join his new team on Friday. The Spurs hope to sign a new striker before the transfer window’s deadline.
According to Daily Mail, Orban is among Spurs’ main candidates to replace Kane this summer. Tottenham have already contacted the 21-year-old’s representatives, hoping to sign him for around £20m.
The departure of Kane leaves Tottenham with Richarlison as their only No.9 option. The Brazil international joined Spurs last summer but failed to impress in his debut campaign.
Last season, Orban bagged 22 goals in 24 matches for Genk, establishing a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising strikers.
Belgian Pro League has already been started, with Orban barely getting playing time at Genk. Manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck has denied reports of a rift between him and Orban. But the lack of playing time could convince the youngster to push for a move away from the club.
Tottenham won’t have Kane at their disposal when they face Brentford in the opening Premier League matchday of the season. Let’s see if they will intensify their efforts to sign Orban in the coming days.
