The Catalans are open to selling Franck Kessie ahead of the next season.
Franck Kessie is reportedly on the verge of joining Al Ahli from Barcelona.
Kessie arrived at Barcelona on a free transfer from AC Milan last summer but struggled to become a regular starter under Xavi. It seems the Catalans are now open to cashing in on the experienced midfielder.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Al Ahli have submitted their first official bid for the Ivorian star. The 26-year-old already has an agreement in place with the Saudi Pro side, planning to join them on a three-year deal.
Kessie is set to join the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Edouard Mendy, and Allan Saint-Maximin at Al Ahly. The move will also reduce Barcelona’s squad depth in midfield as they sell another versatile player.
Ousmane Dembele is also expected to leave Barca in the coming days, with Paris Saint-Germain activating his €50m release clause. The sales provide enough funds for Barcelona to make another signing this summer as Xavi’s side continue their search for a new right-back.
Joao Cancelo is mooted as Barca’s main target for the position. But the La Liga giants are yet to achieve a breakthrough in their negotiations with Manchester City to sign the Portuguese star ahead of the next campaign.
