The Bayern Munich attacking midfielder suffered an injury blow at the weekend.
Germany manager Hansi Flick has confirmed Jamal Musiala won’t be part of the national team for this month’s international break.
The 20-year-old has withdrawn from Germany’s squad after sustaining a hamstring injury during Bayern Munich’s 2-1 Bundesliga defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.
“We [had] all hoped that Jamal would be fit because he has unique qualities,” Flick told reporters in Frankfurt on Monday.
“That’s why it’s a shame for everyone that he won’t be with us.
“We hope he is fit again as soon as possible and that he is back playing after the international matches.”
Flick won’t replace Musiala for either of Germany’s upcoming friendlies against Peru on Saturday and Belgium next Tuesday.
