The Austrian midfielder is spending a six-month loan deal at Old Trafford.

Bayern Munich reportedly want €20m for Marcel Sabitzer’s permanent move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils made a late offer to sign Sabitzer in the winter transfer window. Bayern and United reached an agreement on the deadline day, sending Sabitzer to Old Trafford until the end of the season.

The loan deal came after Christian Eriksen’s injury forced Man Utd to look for midfield reinforcement. However, there is no option-to-buy in the Bayern star’s loan contract.

Sabitzer has made a fine start at Man Utd, quickly integrating into Erik ten Hag’s plans. The Austria international started for the Red Devils when they defeated Leeds 2-0 on Sunday, earning praise for his brilliant display.

According to reports from English sources, United are exploring the possibility of keeping Sabitzer beyond his loan deal.

German outlet Bild, Bayern considers €20m to be a “realistic price” for Sabitzer’s permanent transfer.

The Bavarians signed the midfielder from RB Leipzig on a €15m move in August 2021. But he never managed to secure a regular spot in Julian Nagelsmann’s lineup.

With Bayern signing Konrad Laimer for free next summer, Sabitzer’s permanent departure from the club seems like a realistic possibility.
