The Premier League awards for the best player, manager, and goal have been announced for the month of August 2022.
Player of the Month – Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
To probably nobody’s surprise, Erling Haaland has won the player of the month prize. The striker scored a record of nine goals in his first five Premier League games. He also became only the sixth player to score back-to-back hat-tricks in the league’s history.
Haaland is the first player to claim this award in his first month of Premier League football since Bruno Fernandes for Manchester United in February 2020.
The 22-year-old Norwegian topped an eight-man shortlist that included the likes of Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham), and Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace).

Manager of the Month – Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)
For the third time in his relatively short managerial career, Mikel Arteta has won Manager of the Month. He previously won the award in September 2021 and March 2022.
The 40-year-old Spaniard became only the second Arsenal manager ever to start a campaign with five consecutive league wins after Arsene Wenger. This strong start propelled the club to the top of the standings.
Arteta beat Antonio Conte (Tottenham), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Graham Potter (Brighton/Chelsea), and Marco Silva (Fulham) for this accolade.

Goal of the Month – Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle United)
A superb volley at Wolves has won Allan Saint-Maximin his Premier League monthly award.
The winger has claimed the Goal of the Month after he fired a first-time shot from the edge of the box past a helpless Jose Sa and into the Wolves goal. It salvaged Newcastle a 90th-minute equalizer; which preserved the club’s unbeaten start to 2022/23.
Saint-Maximin’s Newcastle teammate Miguel Almiron won the previous Goal of the Month award in May for a solo strike against Crystal Palace.
