The Red Devils are struggling to add a new forward to their ranks amid reports of Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible departure.

RB Salzburg have reacted to reports around Manchester United’s interest in signing their star striker Benjamin Sesko.

Since joining Salzburg in June 2021, the 19-year-old has developed into one of the most promising strikers in the Austrian league.

Last season, Sesko made 24 Bundesliga appearances for his side, scoring five goals and providing three assists. His performances earned him comparisons to Erling Haaland and several inquiries from elite clubs.

Man Utd’s name has emerged among Sesko’s suitors in recent weeks. But Salzburg have jumped to scare away the English giants with an astronomical valuation.

“We want 300 million + Bruno,” the club wrote on Twitter, replying to a report about United’s interest.

Sesko scored and provided an assist when Salzburg opened their Bundesliga campaign with a 3-0 win over Austria Wien on Friday.

Speaking about comparisons to Haaland, the Man Utd-linked starlet told Goal: “Such comparisons motivate me and give me energy.

“They do not represent pressure. I will listen and learn so I can be even better than he is.

“My team-mates at the club tell me that Haaland and I are very similar, especially in terms of speed. Most of them even tell me that I’m better than him!”
