Barcelona target cut-price deal for €100m-rated striker
Villarreal star Gerard Moreno has emerged as Barcelona’s Plan B in the club’s transfer search for a new striker.
While Robert Lewandowski is Barca’s top target, a deal for the Bayern Munich frontman is difficult. Therefore, Moreno’s name has cropped up. The Spaniard is a proven talent in La Liga and has excelled in Europe, proving instrumental in Villarreal’s run to Europa League success in 2020/21.
Barcelona boss Xavi feels Moreno fits the bill, and while the 30-year-old has a €100 million release clause, Villarreal could accept a transfer fee of around €40 million instead.[Diario Sport – in Spanish]

Manchester City have denied rumors of a planned approach for Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka.

Chelsea may subsidize Lukaku’s salary
The Blues could bankroll some of Romelu Lukaku’s wages to help the striker return to Inter Milan on loan for next season.
