Cristiano Ronaldo helped Manchester United appear in the top four of the Premier League and Ralf Rangnick backs the super striker.

Ralf Rangnick showered Cristiano Ronaldo with compliments following his opening goal for Manchester United in their win over Brighton.

Thanks to the Portuguese superstar and his teammates, the Red Devils found their way back in the top four of the Premier League.

The 37-year-old scored a screamer in the 51st minute which put United in the driving seat. Later, Brighton captain Lewis Dunk was sent off and Bruno Fernandes sealed the deal at Old Trafford.

Certain reports suggested that Rangnick was not among the ones loved in the dressing room. The German tactician had also urged Ronaldo to score more goals.

Despite these ill speculations, the interim coach talked about Cristiano’s outstanding performance on Tuesday night.

Rangnick said: “That was an amazing goal. Not only an important one but an amazing goal.”

“I think overall it was a good performance by Cristiano.”

“Energetically, he was on there, he was always trying to help the teammates so I think in the last weeks definitely the best performance by him and a very, very important goal for us.”
