The Italian tactician faces a serious problem as he could be missing eight key members of his squad on the weekend.

Karim Benzema and Dani Carvajal have emerged as doubts to feature in Sunday’s La Liga encounter between Real Madrid and Cadiz, reports Marca.

Benzema and Carvajal’s unavailability, especially the former’s, could be a major blow for Real Madrid. In red-hot form, Benzema is the team’s leading goalscorer this season and, arguably, the most important player. The French forward has had scored 13 goals and set up 7 more for his teammates in just 16 league appearances.

The two players are facing some “discomfort”, the report says. Carvajal, according to some sources, was unable to take to the training ground and was forced to train inside the club’s training base on Saturday.

Fitness issues for players is a huge headache for Carlo Ancelotti at present. Luka Modric, Marcelo, Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, Gareth Bale, and Andriy Lunin all tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore will play no part in the upcoming league encounter.

Luka Jovic can be expected to lead the line for Los Blancos instead of Benzema on Sunday while Lucas Vazquez will likely replace Carvajal should they miss out.
