In a recent interview, agent Jonathan Barnett opened up about Gareth Bale’s recent struggles at Real Madrid over the last few years.
When Gareth Bale arrived at Real Madrid, he came with the promise to possibly become the best player in the world. In mane respects, he was considered the worthy heir to Cristiano Ronaldo’s throne. But as time kept going, the Welshman started suffering different types of muscular injuries that ended Zinedine Zidane’s patience. Even though he was also important during the three UEFA Champions League titles they won, the gaffer couldn’t stand him.
We all know what the relationship between Zidane and Bale was like. But his agent wanted to set the record straight as he gets recovered from a fresh injury. He wanted to talk about the reason behind his fails at Real Madrid over the last three years. In his view, there are two very specific reasons he wasn’t able to respond as it was demanded from him. After leaving Real Madrid for a short loan at Tottenham, he never really picked up his level back to what it was.
What happened to Gareth Bale?
Apart from the obvious injury problems, Gareth Bale had a major issue that prevented his career from taking off completely. Initially, he was one of the team’s stars during the most important period in Real Madrid’s modern history. But Zinedine Zidane hated that Bale was always falling injured with countless muscular problems. Diario AS picked up the following comments from Jonathan Barnet on Monday.
“The injuries and misunderstanding of recent seasons with Zidane have slowed him down. It’s a shame that’s he’s injured right now, with Carlo Ancelotti again as the coach of Real Madrid. He tore his hamstring, so he has a long way to go. It’s a dream for him to be able to participate in the final phase of a World Cup with Wales. That’s the most important thing for him right now, I think.”
