According to a recent report from Le Parisien, Real Madrid is aware of PSG’s new asking price for Kylian Mbappe. Will they meet the number?

Real Madrid is back in a tough situation after a fresh report coming from Le Parisien, where they reveal PSG’s asking price for Kylian Mbappe. After the €160 official bid was presented to the French giants, Leonardo responded with a long interview on RMC Sport. He made some incendiary statements blaming Real Madrid for malpractice in the transfer market. They do this despite their own under-the-table approaches to players like Neymar or Leo Messi.

Initially, the PSG Sporting Director said that they would negotiate for a much higher price than the initial proposal. Real Madrid was ready to even get all the way up to €200 million but the new information leaves everything in suspense. Apparently, Paris Saint-Germain is willing to accept an offer that goes all the way up to €220 million. They want to at least recover the money they invested in Neymar back in 2017. But there is still no official confirmation from either Real Madrid or Florentino Perez.

Predictions on what Florentino Perez might do.

If he acts within reason, Florentino Perez won’t even entertain the idea of PSG’s asking price for Kylian Mbappe. The French club’s reasoning behind this number is simple: they want to make the €180 million they spent on the player back. Plus, they have to pay €35 million to AS Monaco for his transfer due to formation rights. But for Perez, waiting four more months for the player seems like the best option considering he will be free in January.

Spending €220 million for Mbappe isn’t smart during a global pandemic, especially after begging the rest of his players to cut their wages. It appears there won’t be a Kylian Mbappe transfer to Real Madrid this summer unless Florentino Perez does something crazy. The supporters are demanding for his arrival and that level of pressure could prove tough to handle for the president. Only time will tell what will happen over the next couple of days.
