The Real Madrid manager has broken his silence after Ronaldo’s journalist friend, Edu Aguirre, claimed he wants to re-sign the star.
Carlo Ancelotti has denied claims he seeks to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo and insists he has ‘never considered’ it.
Edu Aguirre, a close friend of Ronaldo’s, made the shocking claim on the popular Spanish football show ‘El Chiringuito’ in the early hours of Tuesday morning that Ancelotti wanted to re-sign his former star player.
The Spanish journalist said the Real Madrid boss has been in talks with Ronaldo’s representatives for a few weeks. The player, who is out of contract next summer at Juventus, has made no comment on his friend’s claim.
But while Ancelotti still holds a lot of affection for Cristiano, he has moved to shut down the prospect of a return to Madrid.
“Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend, and he has all my love and respect,” Ancelotti posted on Twitter. “I have never considered signing him. We look forward.”
Cristiano es una leyenda del Real Madrid y tiene todo mi cariño y respeto. Nunca me he planteado ficharle. Miramos hacia adelante. #HalaMadrid

Juventus don’t expect CR7 to leave this summer
No offers for Ronaldo have arrived and none are expected this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have held no talks over a contract extension either. The club’s manager Massimiliano Allegri, though, will continue to rely on the 36-year-old to lead his attack for this season.
The Italian journalist, who specializes in football transfers, added that Paris Saint-Germain have no interest in signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner after Lionel Messi’s arrival from Barcelona.
Despite recent reports, Manchester City also won’t make an offer for Ronaldo as their target is Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
