Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has opened about Jadon Sancho’s imminent move to Manchester United.

Erling Haaland is ‘sad’ to see his partnership with Jadon Sancho end as the winger prepares to leave Borussia Dortmund.

The duo formed a formidable partnership during their one-and-a-half seasons together in Germany. In their 46 games alongside each other, Haaland scored 40 goals and supplied 11 assists. Sancho, on the other hand, managed 18 goals and 21 assists.

So as Sancho nears a £73 million transfer to Manchester United, Haaland must now find a new partner in crime.

“Me and Jadon understood each other very well, and he’s a top player,” Haaland told Stadium Astro.

“So of course it’s sad that he goes, but that’s how it is, and that’s football. You never know what will happen.

“But I think that there’s a lot of other good players that I have a good tone with and it can become even better. We have to see who I match the best with.”

Sancho’s departure may make Dortmund even more determined to keep Haaland. The 20-year-old’s prolific record has struck interest from Champions League winners Chelsea. The Blues have reportedly offered Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi as part of a potential deal, but BVB quickly turned it down.

So as things stand, Haaland will continue at Dortmund for next under new manager Marco Rose. The pair briefly worked together at Austrian club RB Salzburg until June 2019.
