A second managerial award has come Steven Gerrard’s way in the space of a week after his title triumph with Rangers.

Steven Gerrard has won the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Season award after leading Rangers to a first top-flight league title since 2011.

The former Liverpool captain recently ended Celtic’s decade-long dominance by winning the Premiership and could finish the season unbeaten if Rangers avoid defeat to Aberdeen on Saturday.

Gerrard’s achievements this season had already won him the Scottish Football Writers’ Award earlier in the week.

Now the SPFL has added a second accolade for the 40-year-old in the manager of the year. He will receive the trophy following Rangers’ final match against Aberdeen.

Despite imminent celebrations, however, Gerrard’s focus lies solely on the match. Another victory would see Rangers break the 100-point barrier for the first time in the club’s history and complete an invincible campaign.
