Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has confirmed his intentions to take over the club as part of a consortium with Daniel Ek.

Thierry Henry has confirmed Daniel Ek is still well intent on taking over at Arsenal.

The Frenchman, who is the Gunners’ all-time top scorer, is part of a group with the Spotify co-founder looking to buy the club from the Kroenkes.

It started after the Swedish billionaire share a Tweet expressing his desire to buy the club during protests against the owners.

And Henry has confirmed that Ek is working to bring a proposal to the Kroenkes for a takeover.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, the Arsenal hero said: “The fans want transparency and honesty, that’s why they are upset. We haven’t been successful.

“It is true. Daniel is an Arsenal fan, he didn’t say that for publicity. He watches us, we listened to him.

“You need to put the DNA back into the club. The identity for me is long gone. He already reached out, he has the funds. They need to see. We are trying to find a solution involving the fans. Let’s see where it goes. He reached out.

“I cannot talk about how much it is. That’s been Daniel and the Kroenke family.

“It’s going to be long and not easy. Daniel will not move away. He will be waiting to see if they are willing to sell.”When asked why public?

“Daniel is an honest man. We had a conversation with the supporters’ trust. He reached out and there’s going to be a bid.

“We’re trying to bring a solution.”
