During a recent interview, Spotify’s Daniel Ek revealed his reason behind the attempt to buy Arsenal from Stan Kroenke and his son.

Daniel Ek is not backing down from his attempt to buy Arsenal from Stan Kroenke and his son, even if they are not looking to sell the club. The Spotify CEO recently expressed his intention to buy the North London squad through a Tweet that spread like wildfire. Initially, the Kroenke family released a statement in which they specifically say they won’t hear any offer for the club’s takeover.

But Daniel Ek seems pretty serious about his intentions, he just appeared on American television to reveal more details. As it turns out, Daniel Ek is dead serious about the Arsenal takeover. His current net worth doesn’t go past €4 billion but he is already looking for new income that can help him secure a proper offer. The plan is to have enough cash to push Kroenke to the point of selling the club.

Will Stan Kroenke listen to this offer?

Although there is still no time frame to the offer that will get on Stan Kroenke’s desk, Daniel Ek decided to appear on American television. The businessman didn’t specify where he got the money to make an offer but he did sound confident about it. In an interview with CNBC, this is what Ek said: “I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was 8. Arsenal is my team. I love the history, players and fans. I just see a tremendous opportunity to set a real vision for the club to bring it back to its glory.

I’m very serious. I have secured the funds for it. I’m very serious, I have secured the funds for it and I want to bring a very compelling offer to the owners and I hope they hear me out. I certainly didn’t expect this will happen overnight and I prepared for this to be a long journey. I’ve been a fan for 30 years of this club. I certainly didn’t expect that this would happen overnight. I’m prepared this could be a long journey. All I can do is prepare what I think is a very thoughtful offer, bring it to them & hope they [Kroenkes] hear me out.”
