The Germany international was helpless in preventing the collapse of his side’s ambition of a back-to-back European title triumph.

Leroy Sane is an “unfinished” player, claims Mehmet Scholl as he criticizes him for putting in a poor performance in Bayern Munich’s match against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern ran out 1-0 winners against PSG at Parc des Princes in the Champions League quarter-finals second-leg on Tuesday.

While they were able to get the win as well as level the aggregate scoreline, it wasn’t enough as the French champions, having won the first leg 3-2, won the tie and proceeded to the semi-finals on away goals.

The Bundesliga titleholders, who were missing their crown jewel Robert Lewandowski, were not up to their usual high standards with Sane being one of the poor performers.

The 25-year-old winger has struggled to live up to the expectations ever since arriving from Manchester City on a €49 million move  last summer.

“I’m overwhelmed, I don’t know. At 25 years of age, he’s still unfinished,” Scholl of Sane during an interview with Bild. “When do I dribble? When do I pass the opponent on which side?

“The mix isn’t right yet, he still lacks structure. He’s gotten better overall and is getting more and more understanding of Bayern Munich, but he’s not quite as far as bang in a game like Arjen Robben or Franck Ribery were.”
