Although it’s no surprise that Robert Lewandowski respects Erling Haaland, it is somewhat surprising to know his full opinion on the striker. Throughout the entire season, these two strikers have competed against each other in the Bundesliga for dominance. With Lewandowski having the clear advantage despite Haaland’s obvious superiority in almost every aspect. This doesn’t mean the kid from Norway is not playing impressive football.
It simply gives you an idea of how incredible Robert Lewandowski is right now, the man truly is on fire. Or at least he was before picking up a recent injury with Poland. While he recovers from this issue, Bayern Munich lost a crucial match against PSG and he is doing some interviews. In this conversation with CBS Sports on Paramount Plus, Lewandowski was asked about Haaland. His response might surprise more than one person.

Even though he recognized Erling Haaland’s importance, Robert Lewandowski still couldn’t help but place himself above the youngster. Ego is a major factor that drives any striker, especially one of the best in the world: “He’s a great player. He has huge potential and he’s still very young,” Robert told CBS Sports on Paramount +. “If I see his face and how hungry he is to score goals. In the future, he has a chance to be the best striker in the world, for sure.
“But sometimes when everything is going well, it’s really not easy. But if you see him, he has scored so many goals and he’s so young. It’s great to play in the Bundesliga and it’s great to see a young player in this league and compare. He is the player who can be the best, but I want to play at the highest for many more years, so I am happy to be there where I am.”
