Barcelona starlet Pedri has singled out Karim Benzema while talking about the threats in the Real Madrid team ahead of the upcoming El Clasico.
Real Madrid’s goalscoring responsibility fell on Benzema’s shoulders following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in 2018, and he did not disappoint.
Having established himself as a true match-winner for his side, the striker has notched up 24 goals and six assists through 34 appearances so far this term.
What’s more interesting is the timing of some of his goals – opener against Getafe, Valencia, and Celta Vigo, a late equalizer against Atletico Madrid, and a comeback-inspiring double against Elche.
“They have players of high quality – above all in central midfield. Benzema is also a spectacular player,” Pedri told LaLiga TV. “We have to try to manage the game how we want.”
“Like all El Clasicos, it will be a very difficult game. They also have a very good team, but we will have to have a great game if we are to get the three points. We are focused on that, knowing that it will be a very difficult game.
“It’s a game that will have a big effect on LaLiga. We have to try to take the three points in a very important match.”
