Fikayo Tomori has impressed for AC Milan on loan from Chelsea. The Rossoneri already hold the defender in high regard.
AC Milan are ready to “do everything” to keep Fikayo Tomori at San Siro, claims club director Franco Baresi. Elsewhere, the Rossoneri are also hoping to keep goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to a new contract.
The Rossoneri have taken positive steps forward in 2020-21 and are now in the process of planning for the immediate and long-term future.
Tomori represents a part of those future plans, having joined on loan from Chelsea in the winter window. The 23-year-old has impressed so far in Serie A and we recently reported about Milan’s intentions to turn his move into a permanent one.
However, Chelsea will try to frustrate the Milan side by demanding that the full €28m fee for the 23-year-old is paid in full at once.
That would not stop Milan in their tracks as they look to make the right moves in the upcoming transfer window.
“We’ll do everything to sign him on a permanent deal.” Milan legend Baresi, who is now honorary vice-president of the club, said as per Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Two months are remaining until the end of the season, and it’s not only up to Milan.
“Tomori is imposing himself with talent and determination. He has shown no fear to play in a new league. Potentially, he can become a great champion. I hope he lives up to expectations.”
Baresi also commented on the future of Donnarumma, with the goalkeeper’s future at the club still uncertain.
He added: “We know his qualities. He’s grown up at Milan and we know how important he could be in the coming years.”
