As he goes through a dream debut as an FC Barcelona player, Pedri revealed the full extent of the ‘pinch me’ moment he is going through.
Life is totally happening for Pedri at FC Barcelona, he is enjoying every minute of it. We have often seen him laying waste on every defender he’s faced so far while oozing class on the pitch. His style of play is very reminiscent of the top Blaugrana midfielders from the golden era, whom we won’t name because you know who they are. The best way to realize this kid is special becomes simple when you look at Leo Messi interacting with him. Whether it’s during a training session or in a game, Lionel tends to gravitate around the most skilled individuals.
However, he does have a special connection with Pedri that is hard to describe. They just click like Messi used to click with those midfielders we mentioned before. Even though Barcelona was eliminated from the Champions League, players like Pedri give the fans a lot to look forward to in the future. He is part of a fresh generation of talents who have the chance to make a new dynasty at the club.
Pedri still can’t believe his luck.
During an interview at FC Barcelona’s website, this is what Pedri said: “I’m fine. The injury in the first leg of the cup semifinals was very hard at the beginning compared to what it finally turned out to be. I left the field in a lot of pain and I was worried, but in 48 hours I had recovered. When I left Seville I thought I couldn’t play the second leg but finally it was a wonderful game. I was thinking of doing the preseason and see if I could stay and continue working to be able to have the maximum number of minutes possible.
“What I’m experiencing is incredible. My last year has been full of emotions since I arrived at Barça. Barça already have idols like Messi, Piqué and many more. The young people who are starting out, like Ansu Fati, Riqui and I need to play at a high level to stay in the first team. Playing with Leo is easy because you give him the ball and you know things will happen. Hopefully I can be around Leo for several years, it would be great to learn alongside him.”
