Ahead of Saturday’s crucial match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Hansi Flick finally opened up about Erling Haaland.

Hansi Flick must have Erling Haaland as one of his possible targets for the future but he knows signing him will be nearly impossible. Ahead of the upcoming Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich on Saturday, the coach spoke about the youngster. He knows that if Dortmund stands a chance to win at Allianz Arena, Haaland is the player who can help them get that victory. In his recent press conference before the game, he described Erling Haaland’s attributes in detail.

“Haaland is what a center-forward has to be,” Flick said on his club’s official website. “He has an enormous hunger for goals. The future could belong to him because he has everything he needs for it. He’s fast, has a strong finish and the right mentality. When you see the intensity with which he puts on a sprint over 80 meters – it’s great. He’s someone you always have to watch out for. It’s very important to close the spaces for him. We have to cut off those passes to him.”

A crucial match in the Bundesliga.

Der Klassiker has turned into the most important Bundesliga match of the entire season. However, recent years have proven that it’s very one-sided. We no longer have the days in which Jurgen Klopp’s side was able to defeat the Bavarian giants. Even though they have players like Haaland or Sancho, Borussia Dortmund lacks the squad to defeat this well-oiled machine. If they manage to get the victory tomorrow, it will be considered a momentous occasion for the visiting side.

Dortmund stands 13 points away from Bayern in the table but winning can get them back into the Top Four. Getting those three points is not only about pride, it is also about survival. For a club like Dortmund, missing the chance to play the Champions League means they will have to sell their two best players for sure. This obviously includes Erling Haaland and Bayern will be waiting.
