FC Barcelona have provided an update on the injury status of a key player following the 2-0 win over Sevilla in LaLiga.
Barcelona have announced Pedri has strained his left calf after the midfielder was filmed arriving at the team hotel on Saturday on crutches. The good news, however, is that the injury isn’t as severe as originally feared.
Pedri, who has impressed over the course of his debut campaign at Camp Nou, came off injured during the club’s 2-0 league win over Sevilla. He was later filmed on crutches later that day at the team hotel, taking care to not put any weight on his left leg.

The 18-year-old, therefore, is almost certainly out of the next game against Sevilla in the second leg of the Copa del semi-final tie on Wednesday.
But while Barcelona haven’t stated when exactly Pedri could return, the club’s latest medical report suggests he may be available in time for the return fixture against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last-16 on March 10.
“The medical evaluation and tests carried out this morning have shown that the first team player Pedri has a pulled muscle in his left leg. His recovery will be monitored,” read a club statement.
Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi, meanwhile, scored the goals on Saturday to seal the 2-0 win over Sevilla. Barcelona have moved to within two points of LaLiga leaders Atletico Madrid – for the time being at least.
