Juventus hope to bounce back from back-to-back defeats in Monday night’s Serie A match against the struggling Crotone in Turin.

This game couldn’t be more of a mismatch, with 30 points already separating the two clubs in the league table. Juventus, of course, are ahead and can move into third-place with maximum points, while Crotone are rock bottom and seemingly destined for relegation.

It’s a must-win affair for both sides, who drew 1-1 last time out in October, in their respective battles for title glory and survival. But given their home advantage and greater quality, the hosts should come out on top in this one.

Juventus Form & Stats

The Bianconeri are on a three-match winless run and lost their last two games to Napoli and Porto last week. These setbacks have put a big dent in their Serie A and Champions League hopes. But in the lowly Crotone, lies an opportunity to get back on form with a return to winning ways.

Anything less than three points is unacceptable as Juventus seek to reboot their bid for a 10th title in a row. They’ve only scored once in their last three games, despite dominating possessing and having 48 shots on goal.

Even the club’s top-scorer Cristiano Ronaldo is on a rare dry streak in front of the goal. The Portuguese has scored just one goal in his last five Serie A games and has slipped behind Romelu Lukaku in the Capocannoniere race. He’ll be determined to amend that against an opponent he has never scored against before.

Key Team Stats
  • Lost their last 2 games.
  • Won their last 3 home games against Crotone in all competitions.
  • Unbeaten in 36 of their last 38 home league games.
  • Won with at least a 2-goal margin in their last 4 home league games.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has scored only 1 goal in his last 5 league games.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has managed 27 goal contributions in 27 appearances (23 goals, 4 assists).

Crotone Form & Stats

Crotone’s return to the Italian top-flight hasn’t gone well. The visitors sit bottom of the league table with a mere 12 points from 22 games, having lost 16 times (W3 D3) already. They did, however, hold Juventus to a 1-1 draw in their last meeting in October.

A lot has changed since then, though. Giovanni Stroppa’s side are on a four-match losing run and have scored just two goals. They also have the league’s worst away record, having failed to bag a single victory in 11 outings (D2 L9), and lost 4-0 to AC Milan in their last game away from home.

But the most alarming bit is how Crotone have already conceded 52 goals. It’s comfortably the worst defensive record in Serie A, with their closest rivals being Parma (45), Benevento (42), and Spezia (41).

It’s worth noting the first goal usually proves decisive for Crotone, having lost each time they have trailed in the league this season.

Key Team Stats
  • Lost their last 4 league games.
  • Hope to avoid 5 defeats in a row for only the third time in history.
  • Failed to win any of their 11 away league games (D2 L9).
  • Boast the league’s worst defensive record on 52 conceded goals.
  • Over 2.5 goals scored in their last 10 league games.
  • Held Juventus to draws in their last 2 meetings.
