The Red Devils were ruthless on their return to Europe on Thursday night, running riot against their Spanish oppisition in Turin.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Manchester United gained ‘good confidence’ from their victory against Real Sociedad.
Manchester United took to the pitch for the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie on the back of a 1-1 unsatisfactory stalemate with relegation-threatened West Brom.
But they were able to bounce back in an impressive fashion as they cruised to a 4-0 win.
Bruno Fernandes bagged a brace while Marcus Rashford and Dan James also got on the scoresheet as the Red Devils showed their full wrath to their Spanish opponents.
Speaking ahead of the Premier League outing against Newcastle United, Solskjaer remarked that it was a ‘perfect’ performance from his side on their return to Europe.
“Thursday night was perfect for us. We gave minutes to the ones that needed minutes, we got good confidence from the performance,” said the Norwegian manager, as Goal reports.
“The forwards scored goals – Dan [James], Marcus [Rashford], Bruno [Fernandes] scored two goals. I think we’ve found a way of playing when the spaces are there for us. I think we were good at finding the spaces. When they give you the space in behind, why not take it?”
