Roman Abramovich has been left disgusted by racial abuse to Reece James and is ready to fund extra efforts that could help tackle racism.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has messaged all the Chelsea players and stated his intention to do all he can to battle racism.

This comes after Blues defender Reece James recently suffered racial abuse via social media on Friday. The 21-year-old shared images of some ‘racist messages he received via Instagram while adding that things need to change.

It prompted an immediate statament from Chelsea who showed their support to the player by releasing a statement of solidarity.

The Daily Mail now reports that Abramovich is ready to take things further and is even willing to fund any effort that could help the fight against racism.

As per the report, the Chelsea owner sent personalized messages to all the club’s players just before training on Monday.

“I am appalled by the racist abuse targeted at Reece on social media,’ he writes.”

“Racism has no place in our club nor in our society. Our club is committed to fighting racism, antisemitism and all forms of discrimination.”

Just yesterday, Manchester United also had to issue a statement after Rashford suffered similar abuse.

The issue of racism has increased over the past week in the Premier League. It is high time steps arte taken to curb the cowardice from ‘online trolls’.
