Without a job for over a year, the Argentine had been linked with the La Liga giants before he took charge of the Ligue 1 titleholders.
Mauricio Pochettino has denied claims that he turned down job offers from both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Pochettino took the managerial office at Paris Saint-Germain at the start of January, signing an 18-month contract with the option to extend for another year with the club.
Early signs have been positive for the 48-year-old with PSG winning four and drawing one in his first five matches.
Before arriving at the French capital, he was linked with a move to Spain as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were both reportedly interested in having him as their head coach.
The former Tottenham boss, however, insists he never even received job offers from the La Liga giants.
“That never happened,” Pochettino asserted, talking to Marca. “Clubs are always above the individual and anyone who can say such a thing is out of place.
“This is not the case [that he rejected Madrid], although there was a lot of talk at the time. We have a lot of respect for the teams that may have been interested in our staff.
“It wasn’t like that and of course I have been approached by clubs, but the one we received with love was from PSG. And this is the ideal project.”
