The Real Madrid loanee is yet to start a single game for Dortmund since joining on a two-year loan deal last summer.

Reinier will continue on loan at Borussia Dortmund until at least the end of the season, with Real Madrid opting to remain patient with the youngster.

The 18-year-old signed up on a two-season loan deal last August shortly after completing a €30m transfer to Real Madrid from Brazilian club Flamengo.

Reinier hoped a move to Germany would give him valuable first-team experience to aid his development. Almost halfway into the 2020/21 campaign, however, he has only made eight appearances across all competitions. Not one of them, in fact, have come as a starter.

Despite this underwhelming start, Goal states Reinier intends to see out his loan deal at Dortmund. Therefore, Real Madrid have decided to honor his wishes and plan to remain patient with him.

Zinedine Zidane’s side accepts the Brazilian needs time to adapt and prove himself in a top European league.

This move effectively ends any prospect of Reinier going on loan to La Liga side Real Valladolid, whose president is none other than Brazilian icon Ronaldo Nazario.
