Wolverhampton Wanderers have chosen a striker to fill in for Raul Jimenez as he recovers from a head injury.

Diego Costa has been looking for a new club ever since he decided to part ways with Atletico Madrid back in December. The striker was immediately linked with several Premier League clubs as reports suggested he was keen on a move back to England.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves emerged as the more likely scenario, since the club has been looking for a new striker. In fact, the club could be a good fit to Diego Costa as half of the players in the first-team already speak his mother tongue. However, it seems as though this move won’t go through after all.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently reported that the Wanderers have failed to follow through with a formal contract approach towards the Brazilian striker. Moreover, several reports have suggested that Wolves will be moving to seal the deal with Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose. The 29-year-old had recently been appointed as Costa’s replacement at Atletico. However, the Colchoneros decided to sign Moussa Dembele on a loan deal from Lyon.

Wolves have begun talks with Real Sociedad to sign the Brazilian striker. Real Sociedad have reportedly agreed as he’s fallen a bit out of flavor with the White and Blues. The Premier League side is looking for a loan deal and are currently negotiating the player’s buy clause.

Moreover, Real Sociedad will be looking into Sevilla’s Carlos Fernandez to replace Willian Jose for a fee of €10 million.
