Real Madrid player Eden Hazard was given the ultimate honor in Belgian football by their football association.

Hazard’s life certainly hasn’t been easy since he arrived at Real Madrid. The player has been dubbed a flop as he’s struggled with injuries and a poor physical state. However, many still consider him to be world-class and believe the star can still make a career comeback in Madrid.

In fact, Hazard received confirmation that he is still loved by many this Wednesday evening. The Royal Belgian Football Association announced that Eden Hazard had been voted the 125 Years Ultimate Icon by Belgian football fans. The player beat some heavy competition to win the prize as Vincent Kompany and Kevin de Bruyne sealed the podium.

Hazard made his debut for the Red Devils back in 2008 when he was just 17 years old. Since then, the forward has scored 32 goals in 106 caps for his national team. Moreover, the Real Madrid man helped his country to secure a third place in the last World Cup.

“Our Red Devils have known some exceptional generations and the top 10 is a fine reflection of that. Although it is difficult to compare different generations, there is no doubt that Eden Hazard is a deserved winner as the captain of this golden generation,” said the RBFA.
