Tottenham took on Fulham in London tonight as they attempted to reach the Premier League’s top three.
It was another cold night in London and this Wednesday night’s match didn’t provide much comfort. Tottenham began the match in full steam and Fulham had trouble keeping up at first.
Areola had just handed Fulham a lifeline with a superb save to Son’s header when the Spurs reached the lead. Real Madrid will be second-guessing their decision to sell Reguilon if they see the left back’s amazing assist. Reguilon delivered an incredibly accurate cross which Kane immediately took advantage of.
The teams were regularly at the same level on the pitch this Wednesday. There were a few missed chances on both ends and the ball possession was well distributed. In fact, it looked like this Premier League clash could be going either way.
However, Scott Parker’s team denied Spurs the opportunity to reach the EPL’s third-place 15 minutes before the end of the fixture. Lookman ran across the left-wing to challenge Reguilon’s cross abilities as the Englishman provided the second great assist of the night.
Eric Dier attempted to reach the ball but had to watch Ivan Cavaleiro put it in the back of the net with a brilliant header. Although the aerial game isn’t the former Benfica player’s strong suit, Cavaleiro looked quite sharp on the pitch and deserved to add to Fulham’s unbeaten run.
