There has been a notification to all FC Barcelona presidential candidates, they might find problems with the election process.

The FC Barcelona election process is set to take place on January 24 and there are at least two candidates confirmed to run for the presidency. However, new problems might arise between now and then due to the global pandemic. As you all know, some places are currently suffering the third wave of the infection and others are even experiencing a new strain that is 55% more infectious than the first one.

This will inevitably strike the Barcelona area in Spain, which is precisely where the elections are held. Most cities are supposed to have a voting place where all the people who have the associate badge will be able to vote. But the Spanish government might postpone the whole event due to a spike in cases that are bound to happen eventually. With vaccines taking more time to roll out than previously expected, these elections might get even more delayed.

When will they happen if they get postponed?

Catalonia already announced they are taking measures to protect the citizens from the pandemic on January 17. Amongst these measures are closing the borders or allowing people to leave their homes for essential reasons. If these tight measures remain until the elections, they will get inevitably postponed.

There is still not stipulated date for the elections to take place at FC Barcelona if they get postponed. However, there’s a good possibility they won’t happen until the end of February if this is the case. Both the fans and the squad are desperate for having a new president and much-needed stability. Waiting for a longer period of time will only increase the Blaugrana’s chances of not winning any titles by the end of the season.
