Arsenal defender missed out on the team’s triumph over Chelsea last weekend and has been announced as positive for COVID19.
Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has shown a positive result for the coronavirus. This means that he will not be able to feature in the match against Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday and will undergo self-isolation. In addition, he will also miss the Premier League clash against West Brom on January 2.
Arsenal affirmed that the Brazilian had been in the vicinity of someone who tested positive for COVID19. Moreover, this was the reason why Gabriel could not play against Chelsea over the weekend. The club kept him under scrutiny for precautionary measures as directed by the government of UK.
Arsenal posted a statement on the official website: “Gabriel has tested positive for Covid-19. And is isolating according to UK Government and Premier League protocols. We will continue to monitor and support Gabriel. And we are hoping he will be available again after our next two matches.”
