Goodison Park is the place where Everton got a visit from Arsenal in more Premier League activity. We have the player ratings for today.

Arsenal had a complicated visit today against an on streak Everton side led by Carlo Ancelotti. The Toffees were going for the yugular against Mikel Arteta’s players and attempt to get all the way to the Premier League’s second spot. Carletto’s squad started off on the right foot with an own goal scored by Holden after a header attempted by Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Nicolas Pepe pulled one back for Arsenal still in the first half through the spot.

A penalty was awarded for Arsenal and the French forward converted the goal without hesitation. But this result wasn’t going to end like this. The Toffees were still going to attempt an advantage before half time as they did through Yerry Mina. A potent header from the Colombian defender was enough for the locals to get the three points this evening.

Arsenal crashes against the Everton wall.

For the second half, we could see an Everton side with Italian roots due to Ancelotti’s seal that never disappoints. Mikel Arteta was completely outplayed by the veteran Italian manager during the second 45 minutes of this match. With this win, Ancelotti confirms he has a competitive side that can even dream of trying to compete for trophies this season.

Although winning any silverware won’t be easy, we have to note they have done a fantastic job without the need of James Rodriguez. The Colombian playmaker is going through a tough time with injuries this season but he will be a major upgrade when he returns to activity. For now, the Toffees can rest easy in second place in the Premier League table.
