The Parisians’ star duo will both be out of contract in less than two years, fueling doubts they’re on their way out.

Marco Verratti is hopeful Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will commit their long-term futures to Paris Saint-Germain by signing new deals.

Both players will be out of contract in June 2022, meaning PSG may have a difficult situation to resolve. If no agreement for an extension can be agreed upon, they’ll either have to either sell them next summer or risk them leaving for free a year later.

Neither player has, however, refused to rule out extending their respective stays in the French capital.

PSG sporting director Leonardo has confirmed contract talks and Mbappe’s father, Wilfried, revealed talks are ‘progressing well’ for his son, who is open to committing his future to the club.

“Every day I ask Neymar and Mbappe to stay,” PSG midfielder Verratti told TF1’s ‘Telefoot’ program.

“Sometimes I say to Kylian: ‘Did you sign? Did you sign!?’

“I don’t think it will be long before they come to an agreement because they’re both happy here.

“Neymar and Mbappe are part of one of the best teams in the world.

“In truth, I don’t think there’s a better team than PSG. We can write history by winning the Champions League.”

PSG reached the Champions League final for the first time last season and only narrowly lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the final itself.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have since topped Group H in their latest European campaign to qualify for the knockout stages yet again.

But the top priority for Neymar and Mbappe, for now at least, will be on Sunday night’s Ligue 1 showdown with the high-flying Lyon.
