As nearly half of the season comes to an end, Jose Mourinho had to reveal the reason behind Gareth Bale’s poor form at Tottenham Hotspur.

When Gareth Bale arrived at Tottenham Hotspur, Jose Mourinho had high hopes for the Welshman as he thought his problems were direct with Zidane. However, time has taken the French manager’s side as the Spurs’ boss realized Gareth’s physical state is not what he expected.

The winger also has a problem with his confidence when he tries to play more than two consecutive matches due to his past injuries. Mourinho can instantly sense this issue and he knows that the player is afraid of falling back again with a fresh injury.

In order to fight against this feeling, Jose has been doing some psychological work with Bale but the player keeps struggling. Mou already knows the qualities this player has and how much he can help Tottenham this season. However, the manager needs to remain calm if he wants to get the best out of his asset.

Jose Mourinho will wait for Gareth Bale a little longer.

Contrary to Zidane, Jose Mourinho still hasn’t run out of patience with Gareth Bale. The Portuguese manager wanted to send his player a message that could help him take a more relaxed approach to his return to activity. There is no way he will press Bale to deliver results if he doesn’t feel confident enough to do so.

Mourinho revealed his reasoning with Gareth Bale through The Guardian: “The only problem with Gareth is to get into the dynamic and the confidence of playing consecutive matches without any bad feeling or negative feeling, without any remembrance of the recent past when the condition was not the best and the fears were there,” said Mourinho.

“But now he has the chance of a physical evolution. “He doesn’t need a tactical or a technical evolution. He just needs to get his confidence back about playing three matches in a week. It’s more about that [than anything else].”
