Due to his recent impressive form with club and country, Jack Grealish made Gareth Southgate create a specific plan for the England star.

It’s safe to say that Gareth Southgate finally understood how important Jack Grealish is for the England National Team. It took a handful of matches for him to leave a long-lasting impression that earned him a spot in the starting eleven. Despite England’s elimination in the Nations League, not everything is negative for the Three Lions.

Southgate has a clear idea of what Grealish can help them achieve during next summer’s European Championship. His creative input is refreshing and something that no player who dwells in the middle can provide other than him. The other footballers who are just as disruptive are the ones cutting from the sides to the middle. But Grealish holds that playmaker skill that no other players possess, which is something Gareth Southgate can work with.

Southgate’s plan for Grealish and England.

During his most recent press conference ahead of their match against Iceland, Southgate spoke to the press about the Aston Villa star.

“Jack has had a super start to his international career; I think he will be able to handle the attention,” Southgate said through BBC Sport. “We will succeed or fail as a team.”

“It is for everybody to contribute. We have tried to ensure right the way through the last four years that it is collective expectation – we couldn’t put all the pressure on Harry Kane, we couldn’t put the pressure on Raheem [Sterling] or other players. We have to make sure that is the same with Jack. He has got great courage with the ball so I don’t think it will faze him.”
