The Danish striker is suggested as a key to raising funds for new additions at Camp Nou, but he couldn’t care less about gossip.
FC Barcelona remain interested in Memphis Depay after missing out on him during the summer transfer window, according to sources.
The Catalan giants are reportedly plotting a move for the Olympique Lyon forward when the transfer market reopens at the turn of the year.
With their financial condition being weak in times of a global pandemic, the club would have to raise transfer funds by selling their own players first before making new additions.
Martin Braithwaite is supposedly the player Barca are willing to let go of in order to fund a move for Depay.
Braithwaite, who arrived at Camp Nou as an emergency signing with the enduring injury struggles back in February, however, doesn’t seem too bothered by the exit rumors.
“I don’t follow the news at all. Of course, I hear things, but I don’t pay attention to them,” the Danish international told Bold.
“Barca are a huge club and many things are written. The newspapers have to write many things because they know that whatever they publish about Baraa generates a lot of attention.
“Many things are happening [at Barca], but I look at the things that I can control. I play football and I can’t do anything about anything else.”
