During his own podcast, one of Real Madrid’s biggest players lashed out against FIFA and UEFA for exploiting them on the pitch.

Both FIFA and UEFA have been signaled by one of Real Madrid’s stars as organizations that exploit footballers. As we go through a raging pandemic, all football professionals are starting to feel the effects of a year in which there has been little rest.

Currently, we are going through a two-week international break that came right after a three-week period of non-stop club football. All players had to be ready to perform every three days without getting the proper time to recover from official matches. This much activity has taken a toll on many great footballers in regards to injuries.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are amongst the clubs that have taken the biggest hit in that sense. There are some players who sometimes speak out about the injustices they face on a constant basis. Toni Kroos was the latest to come out to speak against these international breaks.

Kroos lashes out against FIFA and UEFA.

It happened during the podcast that Toni and his brother Felix have. The German international spoke about the many injustices surrounding football in the year of a pandemic. He doesn’t agree with the way these organizations treat players and the unnecessary tournaments they create.

During the podcast called ‘Einfach mal Luppen’, Toni Kroos said: “In the end, we the players are only puppets for FIFA and UEFA with these subjects. Nobody ever asks us anything about them. If there was a player syndicate that decided about these things, we probably wouldn’t even have the UEFA Nations League.

“We wouldn’t have a Spanish Supercup in Saudi Arabia, or a Club World Cup with twenty clubs. New competitions are devised such as the Nations League or the expansion of the Club World Cup to maximize profit and in doing so it’s simply pushing players to new physical limits.”
