Brahim Diaz has opened up on his relationships with Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane and AC Milan teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Brahim Diaz revealed he has a ‘very good’ relationship with Zidane and backed the Frenchman to get Real Madrid back on track and shared details of the connection he’s formed with Ibrahimovic at AC Milan.

Things under Zidane, though, haven’t been so smooth sailing over in the Spanish capital.

The 48-year-old took over the reins at Real Madrid for a second time, just two months after Brahim’s €17m arrival from Manchester City, in March 2019 and almost completely froze him out of the team.

It prompted the attacking midfielder to sign up for AC Milan on a season-long loan deal in September. And in his absence, Real Madrid have struggled for form and lost 4-1 to Valencia last time out.

“Everything about Zidane is questioned but, in the end, he always wins,” Brahim told Movistar Plus.

“I have no doubt that my teammates from Real Madrid will achieve their objectives this season.

“Zidane and I have a special and mutual affection. The relationship between he and I is very good. Now that I am in Milan, we have less contact, but from time to time I receive a message from him.”

Heading into the San Siro, however, has unleashed new life to the young Spaniard’s career. He has featured regularly, especially in the Europa League, and developed a positive relationship with Ibrahimovic.

Brahim continued: “Now I am showing my football, showing what I can provide to the team, and it’s much easier.

“You always enjoy being able to play. I have formed a good connection with Ibra, he gives me a lot of advice. He and I get along very well both on and off the pitch.”
