Qualification for the next Champions League campaign remains of utmost priority for Milan for the season, asserts Stefano Pioli.

Arguably the most consistent and in-form team in Europe’s top five leagues, AC Milan are yet to taste defeat this season – a winning streak stretching all the way back to June.

In those 24 matches, they have won 19 times, scored an impressive 60 goals, and let in just 22.

The Rossoneri have appeared to be taking the right and big steps to return to being the European superpower they once were ever since the appointment of Stefano Pioli last season.

Many are also backing them to end Juventus‘ long-held Serie A supremacy this season and win the title, but Pioli does not see the Scudetto as a necessary deliverable for the season.

“If we are still in this position on Week 32, I would say yes. But there are still many games ahead of us and we must focus on our target, which is to return to the Champions League,” Pioli told L’Equipe via Football Italia.

“The project here is clear. We no longer look at what has happened in the past, but at the present and the future.”

AC Milan play host to Lille on Thursday night in the Europa League group stage matchday 3.
