After Diogo Jota’s performance tonight, we are thinking it might be Liverpool’s time to sell Roberto Firmino to the highest bidder.

We’ve been talking about how Roberto Firmino is arguably the most skillful player Liverpool currently has. This might be the ideal time to sell him to the highest bidder. The Brazilian forward is a rare breed of striker who can’t be considered amongst the top goal-scorers in the world but he is still on the elite level.

We’ve always liked to compare him to Karim Benzema due to his ability to step out of the box and combine with his teammates at various times. He can either score a fantastic goal that any great striker could get, but he can also set you up with a sublime assist. Now that Diogo Jota confirmed himself as the new striker at Liverpool with his recent hat-trick, the Reds need to act quickly.

As the world goes through a global pandemic, there are still some football clubs that can spend good money on a player like Firmino. According to Transfermarkt, Bobby is valued at €72 million. We are talking about an elevated price but not too much for a player of his caliber.

Clubs that could try to get Firmino in the winter.

Knowing that Liverpool also needs some money in order to get the finances in order with the global pandemic, selling this player is a win-win situation for everybody. But we need to analyze which clubs can actually pay for him and which ones are willing to pay.

The most obvious option is Real Madrid, they need a proper Karim Benzema replacement and Bobby is the ideal man. Zinedine Zidane would struggle to let the Frenchman leave but Florentino Perez knows this is the obvious choice for Los Blancos. Another club that would pay instantly for Bobby is Paris Saint-Germain where he can play next to Neymar.

But the biggest obstacle in all this will be Jurgen Klopp, who won’t let one of his favorite players leave so easily. If you look at the whole proposal from an objective perspective, selling Bobby is the smart move for Liverpool without question. Will the Reds opt for this alternative soon?
