Despite his current commitment to Inter Milan, Lautaro Martinez sent a cryptic message about his future that leaves an open door.
Lautaro Martinez is arguably the most important player at Inter Milan. Manager Antonio Conte has repeatedly stated how much he needs the Argentine striker to achieve the goals that are set for the squad. The problem is that Lautaro is also one of the most coveted players in the world, specifically by clubs such as FC Barcelona.
But Spanish football is not the only place where Lautaro could go after he decides to leave Inter. There’s also the Premier League, the Ligue 1, and the German Bundesliga. So many options to choose from that Lautaro doesn’t mind having.
In recent months, he confirmed he would stay at Inter and focus on winning titles with the Nerazzurri but recent results might be making him second guess his future. He was recently asked about the chances of him leaving, his response left Inter fans bewildered.
Lautaro hates not getting results at Inter.
There’s no question that the biggest reason for Lautaro to remain at Inter wasn’t about money, he cares only about fighting for trophies. The current season has been quite difficult for his side as AC Milan reigns in Serie A. With the striker having a more secondary role inside the club, which made him express his frustration during the match against Genoa.
“I work every day to improve. Today I am an Inter player and I want to do the best for the team,” said Lautaro via Goal.
“I’m happy, we work every day, we want to win and to bring Inter as high as possible. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow, today I can say that I am at Inter and that I’m happy.”
“I thank the fans for all their affection,” he added. “The same goes for all the people who work for the club and who have always been close to me.”
“I was angry with myself against Genoa because I didn’t play the game I wanted. It came out of me but today I am happy and ready for tomorrow.”
