Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan has not won their last three games, though the boss is confident about a positive future.

Antonio Conte is sure that his time at Inter Milan will showcase Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp’s performance. Subsequently, the Italy boss is confident that he will set an example for his successors alongside a good team.

Inter has evidently not won their last three fixtures ahead of weekend’s clash with Genoa. Moreover, the Nerazzuri lost to arch-rivals AC Milan last weekend in Serie A.

At the end of last season, Inter secured second place behind champions Juventus. Furthermore, Conte’s side suffered a tough defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final.

Nevertheless, Conte is satisfied with his success and takes inspiration from the Premier League champions, Liverpool. Additionally, under the reign of Klopp, the Reds managed to lift the Champions League in 2019 and the domestic cup in 2020.

“We must always give 110 percent to try to get a good result, in addition to the performance,” Conte said at Friday’s pre-match news conference.

“We need to work hard. As an example, I take Klopp’s Liverpool. It was four years without winning – now they are a war machine.

“We are building something important. I don’t know if it will lead to winning something in the short term, but I know for sure that it is the right path. Even from the outside, seeing Inter, you get the idea of a solid structure unlike in other years. This gives me happiness.”

Although, Inter conceded eight already in Serie A spell for the first time since 2011-12. Also, two more goals came in after a 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Conte accepted Inter’s lack of strength in the backline. But, he is content with the overall abilities of his team.

“If we look at what we are trying to do, how we are trying to involve the whole squad, then it’s inevitable that the characteristics of some performers change from last year,” he said.

“We scored many goals and could have scored more. And conceded avoidable goals and often due to individual situations that we can improve. We will continue to work, to play games. Up to now, there hasn’t been a single team that has been superior to us.”

Inter has a heavy schedule in the upcoming week as they visit Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday. Later, they will fly to Parma four days after.

“It is important we manage the situation and preserve the players as best we can, while playing in the best possible way,” Conte said. “The two things have to be combined. Some players are always playing so we need to protect them from a physical and phycological point of view.”
