Alexis Sanchez offered an update on his injury fears after Chile played out to a 2-2 draw with Colombia. It appears it was only a knock.
Inter fans can breathe a sigh of relief with Alexis Sanchez escaping injury on international duty.
The forward picked up a knock in Chile’s World Cup qualifying game against Colombia.
Sanchez scored a goal for his side as they ended up with a 2-2 stalemate on the evening. There was a scare for the Chilean and perhaps Inter fans when he got caught in a gruesome tackle by James Rodriguez.
It looked a nasty tackle and the 31-year-old appeared to be limping at the time. He did manage to finish the game but there were fears he might have sustained an injury.
Inter face Milan in a big Serie A derby on Saturday and that would have come as a big blow for Antonio Conte.
Thankfully for him an Inter, Sanchez is fine going by his latest comments.
“I’m fine, it’s nothing serious,” he told reporters after the game as quoted by FcInternews.
Asked if he will be fit for the Milan game, he added: “I’m always ready, I love what I do.
Sanchez is heading back to Italy where will have a swab test like all the other Serie A players coming back from their international duty.
Inter have already registered six confirmed cases of Covid-19 among their players.
