Gareth Bale is set to make his second debut for Spurs. Danny Mills explains how Jose Mourinho could make use of the Welshman.

After much talk off the pitch, Gareth Bale looks primed to make his second debut for Spurs at the weekend. He could do so as Tottenham welcome West Ham to their home turf at the weekend.

The Welshman returned to north London on a season-long loan from Real Madrid in the summer. However, he is yet to make a single appearance as he joined his former side with an injury.

Bale has struggled with fitness but could now feature against the Hammers after the international break.

Earlier today, Tottenham shared a short video clip of the 31-year-old in training. Going by what we saw, the Welshman looks ready to get back on the pitch.

There is talk of how Bale would further improve the Spurs attack. An attacking line that has already proven to be lethal enough without the addition of the on-loan Real Madrid star.

Rather than use him as a starter, Danny Mills says Mourinho could consider using the Welshman for a ‘super-sub’ role.

“It will be a big boost to have in the dressing room, definitely,” Mills told Football Insider.

“When you need a goal or a bit of inspiration from the bench there are not too many better than Gareth Bale.”

The forward himself is happy to be back in familiar surroundings and we’re all but curious to see if he can re-discover his form from where he initially established himself in England.
