After his clear message to Real Madrid, we know the reason Los Blancos might not try signing Paul Pogba despite being a free transfer.
If you paid attention to yesterday’s news cycle, Paul Pogba brought back his flirting with Real Madrid through a statement. The French midfielder has been one of Zidane’s most desired players for over two seasons. They’ve even been pictured during off-season talking about a potential transfer in the near future while Pogba was injured. But the always constant problem remains Manchester United and Mino Raiola.
On one side, the Red Devils kept asking for €190 million for a player who wasn’t even worth €100 due to his recent dip in form. As far as Raiola goes, the Italian agent has extreme control over all his clients and no club likes to negotiate with him due to his nonsensical demands. Despite all of this, Paul Pogba will always do as Mino asks because he made him a millionaire. Even though the midfielder decided to shoot his shot again, nothing guarantees he will be heard. Real Madrid is not willing to take risks with anybody during a global pandemic.
Real Madrid responds to Paul Pogba’s message.
After Paul’s press conference, the debates in Spain were on fire. Pundits and analysts together were starting to consider the possibility. The midfielder’s contract ends in 2021, which means he will be a free agent from January. However, Diario AS reports that Los Blancos are not willing to pursue his transfer due to a very specific reason.
Mino Raiola won’t make things easy for the club if Pogba wants to play with them. He currently earns €20 million after-tax at Manchester United and Real Madrid has never paid that much money to a player throughout history. When Cristiano Ronaldo demanded €30 per-season, Florentino chose to sell him to Juventus instead.
The club’s president has a very clear idea about the players he wants at the club, he believes they should aspire to glory instead of having mercenary-like dreams. Pogba will play at Real Madrid only if he agrees to cut his salary, which is something Mino Raiola won’t accept.
