Ronald Koeman has refused to rule out a move away from Barcelona for Ousmane Dembele on the deadline day of the transfer window.

FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele has supposedly emerged as a top transfer target for Manchester United in the last couple of days.

Manchester United are said to be desperate to bring in a right-sided attacker and view the 23-year old winger, who was not their go-to option from the beginning though, as the most viable candidate.

It has been reported that the Red Devils are trying to negotiate a loan move for the Frenchman whereas the Catalans want to offload him permanently, causing an impasse in the transfer dealing.

Reports also suggest that the player has given the green light for his exit from Camp Nou but is only willing to join Old Trafford on a long-term contract.

“What is certain in the world? I don’t know,” Ronald Koeman replied when asked to comment on what the future holds for Dembele, via Goal.

“At the moment, he’s a Barcelona player. There’s still one day left for incomings and outgoings. We’ll see.

Dembele was yet again an unused substitute in Barca’s 1-1 draw against Sevilla on Sunday.

“I opted for [Francisco] Trincao, Pedri and [Miralem] Pjanic [off the bench],” Koeman justified not bringing the €105 million-man on.

“We needed more control and that’s why I made these changes.”
